Congratulations to the Buffalo Sabres Junior team, which won this month's New England Sled Hockey Tournament in Amelia Park, Westfield, Mass.

The juniors won all four games they played to take home first place, putting an exclamation point on a strong season and giving the team significant momentum as they look forward to the 2010-2011 season.

The team defeated the Vineland Sled Stars, 2-1, to win the championship. The team previously defeated the Springfield Sliders, Virtua Wings of Steel, and the MHS Chariots in the tournament's earlier rounds.  

Congratulations to the Buffalo Sabres Junior Sled Hockey team for taking runner-up honors in the OSHA playoffs. The team lost a hard-fought 2-0 championship game to Mississauga on Saturday, March 28, in Guelph, Ontario.

Each player received a medal from the league recognizing their efforts and a fine season for the entire team. After the game, Coach Kothe told the players they'd exceeded expectations, and can use this season as a learning experience to come back better, stronger and a year older for the 2009-2010 season.
