The Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Team Annual Golf Benefit has been scheduled for Monday, August 10, at Holland Hills Country Club. We are looking for hole sponsorships for donations of $100. Your company name and logo will be displayed at one of the 18 holes you sponsor.

We are also looking for a variety of donated items of gift baskets to be used in a Chinese auction.

United Way contributions

As a reminder, during United Way contribution time, a pledge or portion of a pledge can be manually registered to be directed to WNY Physically Challenged Youth Sports Inc. 

Join Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey supporters on Saturday, July 25, for a car wash and Wii Raffle at Twin City Automotive, 156 Central Ave., Lancaster, between Walden and Broadway. The car wash is taking place from 10 am to 2 pm.

Pre-sold tickets can be returned on the day of the car wash or in advance via mail. You do not need to be present to win. 

Western New York Adaptive Water Sports, a 501 C-3 not-for-profit corporation in Grand Island and a chapter of Disabled Sports USA, facilitates and provides disabled veterans and individuals with disabilities the facilities and access to participate in water sports and other recreational activities. The group is offering these programs for the summer of 2009:

* ADAPTIVE SAILING
Every Saturday from June through Oct. 10, 2009, from 10 am to 1 pm. Lessons take place at the Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf, next to the Naval Park. The classes feature experienced instructors and there is no fee for sailing. Donations are gratefully accepted. 

*  ADAPTIVE WATER SKI CLINIC
 July 11 and July 25; August 8 and August 22 at Gallagher Beach near Fuhrmann Boulevard.

* SCUBA DIVE CLINIC
