Congratulations to the Buffalo Sabres Junior Sled Hockey Team, which earned a tough 4-3 victory over Mississauga on Saturday Nov. 21 in Ontario. The win came after a recent 1-1 tie between the same opponents in the Cruisers Cup Tournament.
Buffalo goal scorers were Tyler Ball, who found the back of the net twice, Chase Irwin and Nathan Bryant, who scored the game winning goal with just 1:30 left in the game.
Pierce Dunne made two key saves in the final 10 seconds to secure the win for the visitors.
Congratulations to the Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Intermediate Team, which went undefeated and won the Cruisers Cup in Brampton, Ont., Nov. 6-8.
In Sunday's championship game, the Sabres shut out the North Bay Ice Breakers, 5-0, as Jeremy Lyon recorded a hat trick while Christoph Kothe and Daniel Murray each netted a goal.
Earlier in the day, the Sabres defeated the London Blizzard 5-2. In that contest, Christoph Kothe had the hat trick, while Jeff DeGlopper and Michael Leonard each found the back of the net.
Prior to the semis, the team recorded wins over the K-W Sidewinders, the Hamilton Score, and the Cruisers Silver Streaks.

The Buffalo Sabres junior team had a successful trip to Bramtpon, Ont., the weekend of Nov. 6-8, competing and earning fourth place in the inaugural Cruisers Cup.
The team finished with two wins, a tie and two losses over the course of three days. Highlights included a a 7-0 shutout of Hamilton, followed by a hard-fought 1-1 tie with Mississauga. The team lost to the Mid-American Eagles after previously winning a shortened game against that same team, which wasn't at full strength on Friday evening. The Junior Sabres lost on Sunday to Mid-Am and to the London Blizzard, who captured the Bronze Medal.
